Which is the highest air strip in India?

Do you know that india has the proud honour of being the home to the highest airstrip in the world?

The highest air strip in India and in fact, the world, is at Daulat Beg Oldi (DBO) in Ladakh, Jammu & Kashmir. It is located at an altitude of 16614 feet above sea level.

This airstrip is maintained by the Indian army. In fact, the Indian air force beat its own record for high altitude operations, when it landed a C-130 military transport aircraft here. This is also a global aviation record, for one of the commonly used aircrafts in the world.

Given the harsh mountain landscape of Ladakh and the severe cold, this is an achievement that we as Indians must be proud of and it also shows us how much our airforce personnel who are stationed in such regions contribute to the welfare of our country.
